QUALIFICATIONS: Gifted Teaching Certificate or Grandfathered Gifted Teacher

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Gifted Education

 

SUPERVISES: Not Applicable

 

JOB GOALS: Coordinates the gifted program:  proper identification, delivery of services to gifted students, completion of KDE and local forms and training for classroom teachers.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assure proper identification of students in grades K-12 by individual schools.
2. Coordinate and assure that classroom teachers deliver proper services to gifted students.
3. Provide training for classroom teachers in the delivery of services to gifted students.
4. Coordinate the completion of the gifted forms required by the local district and KDE.
5. Assist in the completion of the Gifted Education Grant.
6. Assist in the completion of District Summary Reports as required by KDE.
7. Assist teachers in delivery of services when appropriate.
8. Assist teachers in the planning of services for gifted students.
9. Attend KDE meeting on Gifted Education.
10. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Gifted Education.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  185 Days

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
