QUALIFICATIONS: IECE Degree or Other Certification approved by Department of Education

REPORTS TO:   Head Start - Preschool Director

SUPERVISES:   Not Applicable

JOB GOAL:      To implement a preschool educational program for eligible participants

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Have a physical examination and T.B. skin test.  Physical paid for by Board of Education at local Health Department.  
2. Use the curriculum adopted by the program.
3. Make two home visits per year to each assigned family enrolled.
4. Make lesson plans to be used in daily planning.
5. Develop activities to be used for the weekly lesson plan.
6. Plan and coordinate center day activities for children.
7. Write objectives for each child including disabled children.
8. Fill out all enrollment forms.
9. Document all pertinent family data.
10. Refer families for needed services using referral forms.
11. Send all documentation to the Central Office at the designated time.
12. Submit withdrawal forms to the Central Office after a withdrawal.
13. Insure that the classroom is kept safe and clean.
14. Conduct fire drills, tornado drills, bus evacuations and other drills as per school policy and document the drills on appropriate forms.
15. Meet all goals and objective of the Head Start - Preschool Program.
16. Be responsible for parental activities in the classroom and two parent teacher conferences.
17. Other duties as assigned by the Head Start - Preschool Director.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   Salary, benefits and work year to be established by Board approved schedule.

EVALUATION:   Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.
